Gons of sugar beets wait in the yard while an SW-1 is made ready. The layout backdrop is directly behind the Broadway Bridge but a cutout lets trains pass through the backdrop and under the bridge. There are several places where tracks go though the backdrop but the openings are disguised as bridges and tunnels, an idea discussed in the July 2002 Model Railroader.
