Here's a page from a Model Railroader article from March, 1999, on the layout. The track plan has a couple of errors, the bigget being that there is a reversable section of the yard which alllows trains to run  switching chores, or to pass right on through in continuous running with no changes in polarity. This is shown in red but the key crossover switches were omitted.  They allow switchers to move from the main part of the yard to the reversable section.  It is even possible to reverse the direction of whole trains by crossing though the yard to the other main, though I seldom use this feature.
